A Simple Method for the Determination of Hexavalent Chromium

Hexavalent chromium on the human body toxicity, drinking water health standards for drinking water in the hexavalent chromium concentration can not exceed 0.05mg / L. For the detection of hexavalent chromium in drinking water, ion exchange chromatography can be used, UV detection. Chromatographic conditions and test results are as follows:
Chromatographic conditions:
Column: PR-SA-8A (250mm * 4.6mm) high-capacity column
Eluent: 50 mM Na2HPO4
Flow rate: 1.50ml / min
Detection wavelength: 313nm
Injection volume: 200ml

Under the above chromatographic conditions, commercially available mineral water, vat water, tap water and other water samples were not detected hexavalent chromium. The recoveries of hexavalent chromium were between 91.3% and 100.9%, and the results were satisfactory.
